The COVID-19 crisis may be changing the culture of the United States as it in effect changes the ways populations around the world work, go to school, seek entertainment, understand their moral obligations to others, and interact with every institution in society. Our main concern in the development of this site is the impact of the pandemic and reactions to it on the moral culture of America, which has been contested throughout American history.

Will the pandemic experience change American values in terms of individual vs. collective responsibility for the well being of themselves and others and how might these changes, if they occur, be manifested? We will use this site to post items we think contribute to our understanding of the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on the way we live now and the values we hold.
