Here is a preview of our maps and dashboards exploring data from the 2018-2022 American Community Survey, provided by U.S. Census Bureau. This preview features just a few variables that indicate probable vulnerability, such as poverty and unemployment, together with more general variables such as age, race, and ethnicity.

Age Tabs

Estimates of the total population that can be filtered by age group, generation, region, race, ethnicity, and sex. The bar charts show distributions of race, ethnicity, age, and sex according to your selected filters. The map and table estimate populations 65 years and over as percentages of the so-called map base population. The map base population is the total population with your selected filters except for age and generation. Darker colors on the map indicate regions where the percentage population 65 years and over is higher.

Data for these tabs come from ACS tables B01001, B01001A, and others.

Education Tabs

Estimates of the population 18 years and over that can be filtered by educational attainment, region, sex, and age group. The bar charts show distributions of educational attainment, age, and sex according to your selected filters. The map and table estimate high school graduates and less as percentages of the so-called map base population. The map base population is the population 18 years and over with your selected filters except for educational attainment. Darker colors on the map indicate regions where the percentage of high school graduates and less is higher.

Employment Tabs

Estimates of the population 16 years and over that can be filtered by employment, region, race, ethnicity, sex, and age group. The bar charts show distributions of race, ethnicity, employment, age, and sex according to your selected filters. The map and table estimate unemployed population as percentages of the so-called map base population. The map base population is the population 16 years and over with your selected filters except for employment. Darker colors on the map indicate regions where unemployment is higher.

Data for these tabs come from ACS tables B23001, C23002A, and others.

Health Insurance Tabs

Estimates of civilian noninstitutionalized population that can be filtered by health insurance, region, race, ethnicity, and age group. The bar charts show distributions of age, race, ethnicity, and health insurance according to your selected filters. The map and table estimate populations without health insurance coverage as percentages of the so-called map base population. The map base population is the civilian noninstitutionalized population with your selected filters except for health insurance. Darker colors on the map indicate regions where health insurance coverage is lower.

Data for these tabs come from ACS tables B27001, C27001A, and others.

Poverty Tabs

Estimates of population for whom their poverty status was determined that can be filtered by poverty, region, race, ethnicity, and age group. The bar charts show distributions of poverty, age, race, and ethnicity according to your selected filters. The map and table estimate populations below the federal poverty level as percentages of the so-called map base population. The map base population is the population for whom their poverty status was determined with your selected filters except for poverty. Darker colors on the map indicate regions with more prevalence of poverty.

Marital Status Tabs

Estimates of population 15 years and over that can be filtered by marital status, region, sex, and age group. The bar charts show distributions of marital status, age, and sex according to your selected filters. The map and table estimate people who is not married as percentages of the so-called map base population. The map base population is the population 15 years and over with your selected filters except for marital status. Darker colors on the map indicate regions where the percentage of married people is lower.

Veterans Tabs

Estimates of civilian population that can be filtered by veteran status, region, race, ethnicity, sex, and age group. The bar charts show distributions of race, ethnicity, veteran status, age, and sex according to your selected filters. The map and table estimate veteran population as percentages of the so-called map base population. The map base population is the civilian population with your selected filters except for veteran status. Darker colors on the map indicate regions where the percentage of veterans is higher.

Data for these tabs come from ACS tables B21001, C21001A, and others.

Breakdown Tab

This tab features a table with all the percentages mentioned above. Data in this tab can be filtered by region and sex. The estimates in the table and charts are shown as percentages of map base population, as defined in the respective tab. For example, the “% Veterans” column contains percentages of the civilian population of the selected territories, just like the Veterans Tab.
