
Monsignor William A. Kerr, Ph.D., is the Executive Director of the Claude Pepper Center at Florida State University. Prior to coming to Florida State University, he served as the Executive Director of the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center in Washington, DC. He was President at La Roche College in Pittsburgh, PA from 1992 to 2004 where he established the “Pacem in Terris Institute,” a scholarship program for outstanding college age women and men from conflict, post-conflict and developing regions of the world who agree to return home to build or rebuild their nations. Monsignor Kerr also served as the Vice President for University Relations at The Catholic University of America from 1984 to 1992 and served as an adjunct faculty member as an Instructor of History and served as the Catholic Campus Minister at Florida State University from 1971 to 1984.
Monsignor Kerr holds a Ph.D. in Diplomatic History and a M.A. in American Studies from Florida State University, several Master degrees from various universities and a Licentiate degree in Theological Studies from The Catholic University of America. He has received honors from several governments and universities and was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Pristina in Kosovo.
